What I Played With This Week

Dyed Shetland – white kid Shetland – bits and pieces - including some recycled denim.  Just some stuff I had on hand.

Carded into 6 batts.

Spun up 2 bobbins of singles and plied = almost 150 yards worsted weight at 10 Wraps Per Inch and a gauge of 4 stitches to the inch on size 9 needles.

Decided to knit up a simple swatch/hat to see how it felt to work with. I added a little tab to the purled ridge and then looked for a button in the sewing drawer but ended up deciding on this little tag instead.

Have to say I am really pleased. The yarn is soft and light and lofty. The color - kind of a robin’s egg blue with lots of tweedy flecks.

Hope your weekend is full of the stuff that makes you happy!
