I found this Luna Moth on the driveway the other morning. It took me a moment to realize what it was as the wings were scattered. A bird must have gotten it. I wanted to document it's striking beauty, and so I'm sharing it here. I've read that the Luna holds symbolic meaning. I also know that hickory trees are a favorite habitat. We have a hedgerow lined with old hickory trees, but since they fly mostly at night I'm thinking the chances of seeing a live moth would be slim. Still I suppose there's a chance.
