Hats Hats Hats

Leave everyone wondering which is the more interesting piece of work….
you or your hat.        anonymous

I’ve been making a lot of hats lately. Some more successful than others.

My son says my "Selbu Modern" makes me look like I have a “muffin head.”

I had a blast running around town in my Fair Isle "Fair Isle Sampler Hat" .
How could you not feel like an elf wearing this?

When I wore my Tam  to Christmas eve services the usher said “Oh Lynn I almost didn’t recognize you- you look- so French.” He didn’t understand that in my imagination I’m Kate of Needled- literary, interesting, talented, beautiful, petite and Scottish.
The owner of our new LYS, Beyond the Rainforest, liked my tam so much she asked me to lead a Fair Isle workshop next month. Can’t tell you how excited I am about this!

And so I’ve been polishing up my stranded color work .We will be starting off with corrugated ribbing and working a simple headband. My thought – enough stitches to get a rhythm going- not too fiddly like mittens or socks can be.

This is my darling niece- she looks cuter in a headband than I do.
Coming next a new creation- you start with the headband idea add a top and end up with a hat that reminds me of a Yurt. -yes a Yurt
I’m not quite ready to share the photo yet.
It’ll give you something to look forward to.
Breathes a woman with a soul so dead that never to herself hath said, “I need another hat to adorn my head.”

Woah, what great hats. You are an amazing fiber artist!

Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting on the garter jacket. The pattern is my own concoction but I checked Debbie Bliss' books for the measurements.

Lovely hats! My personal favorite is the stocking cap. You're right -- elf. Happy, delighted elf! (Muffin head? Ummmm. Not so much!)

Your hats are beautiful! And I can relate to your living in the "Needled" world ~ there's always something fun & interesting going on over there!

Amazing colorwork! I know exactly what you mean, I have a skirt that I imagine makes me petite and Irish and sassy.
